National Days of Service & Signature Events

HandsOn Central California holds many large-scale community wide volunteer service events. These are one day projects designed to promote and encourage volunteerism while ensuring a maximum impact on the issue we are serving. Projects range in variety and impact area and primarily fulfill the needs of our partner organizations. For information on upcoming events visit our Special Events Page

Retired & Senior Volunteer Program

R.S.V.P. (Retired & Senior Volunteer Program) is a National Service Senior Corps program, designed to recruit skilled, experienced, active adults ages 55 and older for volunteer activities meeting the needs of their communities. Volunteer service creates a sense of ownership, pride, and responsibility for the community and its needs. Volunteerism is also a proven wellness activity; people who volunteer are happier, healthier, and better informed than people who do not engage in service. If you are 55 or over and are interested in becoming an RSVP volunteer, or had any questions regarding this program please contact:

(559) 237-3101 or email: info@handsoncentralcal.org

Court Referral Program

The Court Referral Program provides placement, follow-up, monitoring and reports on people sentenced to complete community service work. A program fee is charged for each referral and the fee is based on the number of hours of work assigned. If you have court ordered community service, or any questions about this program contact HandsOn Central California: (559) 237-3101 or visit Community Service Page.

National Service Programs

Our AmeriCorps, VIP Fellows and VISTA programs impact the capacity of organizations to assist more people to achieve success. HandsOn Central California with the support of the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) manages the Literacy by 3rd Grade Program. HandsOn AmeriCorps VISTA members work in Fresno elementary schools to develop infrastructure support for volunteers and to strategically access trained volunteers into the pipeline of Literacy by 3rd Grade Program, activities, and classrooms. HandsOn also supports AmeriCorps VIP Fellows through CalSERVES to increase the number of high-value (skilled and corporate) volunteers providing services to nonprofit and educational organizations that serve children, youth and families in the Central Valley. The VIP Fellow builds capacity and infrastructure within the Partner Site volunteer program to provide support, skills and resources that volunteers need to be successful. For further information please contact: Maria Garcia at (559) 237-3101 Click Here to email.
