AmeriCorps Seniors RSVP (Retired Senior Volunteer Program) Volunteer

AmeriCorps Seniors RSVP (Retired Senior Volunteer Program) Volunteer Qualifications: You must be at least 55 years old. The RSVP Program provides safe engaging placement in volunteer programs across Central California. We serve Fresno, Madera, Kings, Tulare, Merced, Mariposa, and Stanislaus Counties. There is a wide variety of volunteer activities to choose from depending on your location: • Feeding the community through food distribution and hot meal programs • Supporting youth through mentoring and tutoring • Supporting homeless shelters with administrative tasks, meal prep, kitchen clean up, and maintenance • Build low-income housing • Support community clean-up projects • Help educate the community on disaster preparedness • Help educate the elderly about opioid medications • Support lonely and isolated seniors through our Telebuddies program with friendly phone calls • Support law enforcement with administrative and community outreach programs • Support isolated seniors with rides to the grocery store, doctor, or pharmacy (Stanislaus County Only) Volunteer Station Sites undergo a yearly safety check and receive ongoing volunteer management support to ensure best volunteer practices are used and volunteer training is provided and adequate. AmeriCorps Seniors RSVP Volunteers are eligible for our Volunteer Incentives Program. Receive a special gift as you hit service benchmarks. Our RSVP Volunteers receive supplemental volunteer limited liability insurance, which covers them if they have an accident while volunteering.
