Stand Down Volunteer

The Stand Down is an annual event started to help connect homeless veterans to resources to get them off the streets. The event is open to all active military, veterans, reservists, and national guard. The event allows homeless veterans to camp out for the duration of the event. They are fed three meals a day and have access to showers, hair cuts, clothing, dental services, flu shots, and eye exams. Attendees are connected to resources in the community on housing, education, mental health services, health services, VA benefits, and more. Volunteers are needed September 16th to help with event set up. Volunteers are needed throughout the event to help with event logistics such as trash collection and security. Volunteers are needed to help with food prep and serving Volunteers are needed to help sort clothing Skilled volunteers with guard cards or off duty/retired law enforcement officers are requested to help with site security in the evenings and to help with traffic control. Volunteers skilled in fundraising and marketing welcome!
