COVID-19 Community Partner Resource Hub

HandsOn Central California is closely monitoring the rapidly evolving circumstances surrounding the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and its potential impact on the Central Valley. Our top priority is the health and safety of our community.

Following guidance from local leaders and recommendations on social distancing, HandsOn is cancelling all HandsOn managed volunteer projects and programming through March 31, 2020. This includes, but is not limited to, nonprofit trainings, outreach events and civic convenings. Through regular communication with our partners and continued monitoring of the situation in our area, we will consider extending the suspension period if needed.

As the volunteer hub for the Central Valley region, we will continue to support projects led by our partner organizations.

  • We will highlight new volunteer opportunities that have emerged in response to COVID-19, including those associated with schools and safety net partners. (These organizations will be reliant on volunteers to deliver essential services during this time.)
  • Partner organizations still will be able to maintain and add postings as they deem appropriate. Contact us at info@handsoncentralcal.org

As your organization prepares and makes decisions regarding engaging volunteers, we recommend that you follow guidelines set forth by the CDC. We will continue to add to and update the resources linked below.

We do not yet know the extent to which COVID-19 will impact our region, but we remain committed to responsible volunteerism. Our volunteer projects bring people together across lines of difference to build a stronger, more unified Central Valley region. We thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to limit any unintentional harm toward volunteers and populations we strive to serve.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out to our staff at info@handsoncentralcal.org with any questions or concerns.
