COVID-19 Volunteer Updates

HandsOn Central California is closely monitoring the rapidly evolving circumstances surrounding the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and its potential impact for the Central Valley Our top priority is the health and safety of our community. In response to CDC recommendations, HandsOn is cancelling all HandsOn managed volunteer projects and programming for the time being. Updates will be coming soon as they are availiable. This includes, but is not limited to nonprofit trainings, presentations to groups, and civic convenings.

We will continue to support Court Ordered Community Service clients/partners, RSVP, AmeriCorps VISTA, VIP projects, and members via remote access.

We will also continue to support projects led by our partner organizations who rely on volunteers to deliver essential services during this time, and who can post these special volunteer needs on our website.

Through regular communication with our partners and continued collection of the latest data and information, we will consider extending the suspension period if needed.

As the volunteer hub for the Central Valley region we will continue to support projects led by our partner organizations who rely on volunteers to deliver essential services during this time, and who can post these special volunteer needs on our website. We will also use our website to highlight opportunities to support the schools and safety net organizations most impacted by this situation. Please continue to check our website for new information about how you can best direct your time and in-kind materials to support our community.

We know that volunteers are eager to give back in times of disaster, and many of our community partners continue to serve their clients during this outbreak. Thank you for your ongoing efforts to support our neighbors in the Central Valley during this time.
