Tulare County Office of Education - CyberQuest Volunteers Needed

CyberQuest is a student-centered, problem-based learning activity designed to lead students to apply higher-level thinking skills in an authentic public speaking arena. Students apply research skills to a standards-based, curriculum-oriented thematic project. The work culminates in a multimedia presentation before a panel of judges and a public audience. CyberQuest has grown from 25 teams to almost 100 teams. Our continued success is based on the hard work of teachers and volunteers throughout the educational and business communities. Founded in Tulare County in 1998, CyberQuest is a student event that features research, presentation, and multimedia production. Students, grades 4-12, work in teams to create their solution to a scenario in a three-week period of time and then present their findings in a presentation that combines multimedia with speaking skills. The CyberQuest competition stresses the use of the National Education Technology Standards for Students. We are looking for volunteers to help as room/hall monitors and judges. Training, continental breakfast and lunch will be provided.
