In 1968, HandsOn Central California began hosting the annual Hands Across the Valley Awards Luncheon in recognition and celebration of our community’s volunteers. This heart-warming event honors individuals and groups who have made a difference by generously giving their time and talent to improve the quality of life in our Valley. The event raises the profile of civic engagement and advocates for citizens to make positive change in their communities. This event honors volunteers who have made a difference by generously giving their time and energy to address challenges in 5 counties: Merced, Madera, Fresno, Kings and Tulare.
Volunteers help shape our communities through their hard work and dedication. We all reap the benefits of a clean neighborhood park, youth engaged in healthy activities. Volunteers fill a myriad of social needs such as feeding the hungry, education and mentoring youth, companionship for seniors, keeping animal shelters open, services for the dispossed, building homes and so much more. Help us honor these amazing individuals and all the wonderful work they do to make our communities a better place to live.
All nominees will be honored and recognized for their efforts in our Valley at a luncheon. All award winners will be invited to an evening reception at Fresno City Hall in their honor where family and friends will be able to celebrate with them.

"We celebrate the selfless individuals around our country who channel their civic virtues through volunteerism... devoted to a cause bigger than themselves.... Volunteers help drive our country's progress, and day in and day out, they make extraordinary sacrifices to expand promise and possibility". ~Barack Obama, 2016
