HandsOn Central California, formerly known as the Volunteer Center of Fresno County, Inc., has served the community for 46 years. It was founded in 1962 by a group of community leaders who saw the value of volunteerism as a tool for community change.

 

On August 23, 2008, the Board of Directors of the Volunteer Center of Fresno County made the decision to become a transformative partner of the newly formed HandsOn Network generated by Points of Light Institute.  That vote changed the name, vision, mission and goals of the organization. It coincided with our relocation to a new building and address – 732 North Van Ness Avenue, Fresno .
