HandsOn Central California builds capacity for effective volunteering at agencies, businesses and others who work with volunteers. We provide volunteer management training and consultation, and share information and best practices.

HandsOn Central California is a partner-site for the Americorps VISTA program. VISTA's are full-time volunteers who focus on building the capacity of nonprofit organizations that serve low income populations.

Americorps is a national volunteer service program, comparable to a domestic Peace Corps. Americorps members serve their community by addressing critical needs in public safety, education, health and the environment.
D.O.V.I.A is a networking opportunity for directors of volunteers in non-profit agencies. Members meet     quarterly to share information about programs and events, ideas for agencies, and best practices.

The WE Connect campaign is a groundbreaking public/private partnership designed to help California’s working families become more financially secure by connecting them to important programs and resources. This statewide campaign connects those eligible with the information and tools they need to access these valuable resources.

To strengthen community connections, build collaboration and support one another in providing quality leadership,  HandsOn has convened a monthly circle of the Chief Executive Officers of local community benefit organizations.  If you are a CEO, Executive Director, or CPO – we invite you to join us for The Power of WE – contact Cathy Caples for more information

Be Ready! Part of HandsOn Central California is to ensure the preparedness of the community if there ever was a Disaster to strike. Being prepared can reduce fear, anxiety, and losses that accompany disasters.  The program includes training and information for potential interested disaster volunteers as well as personalized office preparedness training for non-profits.

HandsOn Central California has created Board Connections, a new service to help potential board candidates learn about nonprofit board service and apply for available board positions. The program provides nonprofit’s with the expertise and resources that allow them to maintain quality boards of directors.
Central California has many small and large companies who engage with their employees in service to our communities.  HandsOn is working to bring these employers together to strengthen our communities through meaningful volunteer service.
