Fresno Mayor Ashley Swearengin has
launched Serve Fresno, a new community engagement project calling
residents to service and challenging them to volunteer 1 million
hours annually to improve our communities in the city and county of
Fresno and make our area the #1 volunteering community in
California.
HandsOn Central California builds capacity for effective volunteering at agencies, businesses and others who work with volunteers. We provide volunteer management training and consultation, and share information and best practices.
The WE Connect campaign is a groundbreaking public/private partnership designed to help California’s working families become more financially secure by connecting them to important programs and resources. This statewide campaign connects those eligible with the information and tools they need to access these valuable resources.
To strengthen community connections, build collaboration and
support one another in providing quality leadership, HandsOn has
convened a monthly circle of the Chief Executive Officers of local
community benefit organizations. If you are a CEO, Executive
Director, or CPO – we invite you to join us for The Power of WE –

Be Ready! Part of HandsOn Central California is to ensure the
preparedness of the community if there ever was a Disaster to
strike. Being prepared can reduce fear, anxiety, and losses that
accompany disasters.
The
program includes training and information for potential interested
disaster volunteers as well as personalized office preparedness
training for non-profits.
